Kennedy Legacy Trail
Brochures and maps will be available at the JFK Museum on Main Street, Hyannis
Year round, free self guided walking tour. Celebrates the significant role the Kennedy¹s played in shaping the history of Hyannis and Cape Cod. The 1.6 mile trail consists of 10 informational signs that are placed at key locations from Main Street to the harbor, finishing up at the JFK Memorial at Veteran¹s Beach Each stop provides a brief history of the site and its significance to the Kennedy¹s and their life on Cape Cod. Visitors along the trail can retrieve additional information by accessing the QR code or dialing the number on each sign. Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod 9th Annual Ride for Homes
US Coast Guard Station at the Cape Cod Canal in Sandwich
Sponsored by KAM Appliance. Participants can choose from three cycling routes or two walk/run options. The 50-mile ride begins at 7:00 a.m. and departs for the Shining Sea Bike Path from North Falmouth to Woods Hole and back. At 9:00 a.m., the 20-mile ride departs for Mashnee Island, and the 14-mile ride begins along the Cape Cod Canal. The 5K and 10K run or walk will take place along the Cape Cod Canal. Registration is now open, all proceeds support Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod in building affordable homes with local families and volunteers. History on Tap: The Remarkable History of Penikese Island

Penikese Island, a 75-acre wildlife sanctuary at the southwest end of the Elizabeth Island chain, has a fascinating history—from a natural history summer school to a leper colony—and now serves as a vital refuge for endangered seabirds. For 150 years, botanical surveys have tracked its ecological changes, and today the Penikese Island School turns this living classroom into a place where learners of all ages explore conservation, science, and environmental stewardship.
